Joe Nicholson is a part time nature photographer, pigeonjoe@comcast.net. He has photographed nature with a 35 mm camera since 1970 and dabbled in wedding photography with his 2 1/4 Rollieflex. Born in Marianna, Florida, he grew up in Atlanta and has hiked and photographed along parts of the Chattahoochee River, more than fifty miles of the Appalachian Trail, and parts of Cumberland Island, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, and other National Parks. Birds are among his favorite subjects. During his high school years he raised more than 60 homing pigeons in his pigeon loft and is raising pigeons again. He has a thirty year collection of translucent photography of trees and fall leaves. It is his hope that you might experience some of the wonder, majesty, and greatness of nature through his nature and wildlife photography and that you will endeavor to appreciate and protect wildlife, natural places, and the environment.
